Uncertainty
Sand-blasted glass boxes, 4 pieces 24x21x2cm, 2002 The personal experience of vision is based on the subject of vision, but comes about only through the seer. There can be only approximate attempts to represent it, as the image is always seen from the eye of an individual. The work exhibited tries to represent the image eyes focusing on themselves rather than the sight see. A certain condition of the eye may cause small lines, whose number is different in each individual, to appear in the field of vision: they are the so-called muscae volitantes, or floaters. The first layers of the pictures are made of images of these floaters, based on personal experience. Inside the boxes you can see photos of a nature scene as it would appear in the right and left field of vision. |
